Manitoba PCs Introduce Lawrence Pinsky as Candidate for Tuxedo

WINNIPEG — Today, nationally-renowned family lawyer Lawrence Pinsky was announced as the Manitoba PC candidate for Tuxedo in the June 18 byelection.

“Lawrence’s community roots and longstanding public service make him the perfect choice to represent Tuxedo,” said Wayne Ewasko, interim Leader of the PC Party of Manitoba. “Lawrence’s dedication to legal advocacy, human rights, and community volunteerism is perfectly aligned with our team’s values and priorities. He is fully prepared to serve the people of Tuxedo in the Legislature, hold the NDP government accountable, and work for the results his community deserves.”

Lawrence brings over three decades of legal experience to the Manitoba PC team. Called to the Manitoba bar in 1993, he was appointed King’s Counsel in 2023, and served as an adjudicator on the Manitoba Human Rights Commission for a decade under both PC and NDP governments. Lawrence is a former Klinic crisis counsellor, former chair of the Manitoba Craft Council, and speaks French and Hebrew.

“In seven short months, I have seen the NDP fail to deliver on their promises with their cuts to new schools, surgical care, and community groups all while raising taxes on Tuxedo families. From day one, I will work to hold the NDP accountable and demand better,” said Pinsky. “As a father, coach, and volunteer, I will continue to advocate and collaborate as we work to build a better Tuxedo, and the strong, safe, and healthy future we all want for our kids.”

The Tuxedo byelection takes place June 18.

“We had three strong candidates come forward to represent Tuxedo. I appreciate and thank all their volunteers as well as the PC Caucus team for their hard work in signing up members and generating a groundswell of community support from voters at the doors,” said Brent Pooles, President of the PC Party of Manitoba. “The people of Tuxedo will be well served having Lawrence Pinsky as their new MLA.”
