Manitoba PC Leadership Race Officially Kicks Off

WINNIPEG – The Leadership Election Committee of the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba announced today that nomination forms for potential candidates interested in seeking the Party’s leadership will be available from Friday, June 28, 2024, and that the Party’s office will be open to start accepting nominations beginning on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. The deadline for potential leadership candidates to submit their nomination forms is Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

The party’s Leadership Election Committee is overseeing the nomination process and will be guided by the rules established and ratified by Party members earlier this year. Chaired by Brad Zander, the Leadership Election Committee includes representation by members of the Party from urban and rural Manitoba.

“This leadership race is an exciting time of renewal for our Party, and an important opportunity for members to engage in the democratic process and have their voices heard,” said Zander. “We are excited to see candidates come forward and share their ideas and vision for the future. The Leadership Election Committee will ensure a fair and transparent contest as candidates engage with Party members and all Manitobans.”

Manitoba residents who purchase or renew a Progressive Conservative Party membership by February 28, 2025, will be entitled to cast a ballot for the Party’s next leader. Membership is open to Manitobans aged 14 and older who support the Progressive Conservative Party and want to help shape the future of our Party and Province. To become a member, Manitobans can go online to pcmanitoba.com/become-a-member.

Updates on the leadership contest will be provided by the Leadership Election Committee via the Progressive Conservative Party’s social media accounts and at pcmanitoba.com/leadership2025.

The next leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba will be announced on April 26, 2025.
